Some rooms of my own

virginia woofle room of one's own book coverSo, subject to a few final checks, it looks as though I’m going to be moving into a flat of my very own for a while. I am unbelievably excited about this, even though I will miss living with my best friend and will likely face financial destitution. Why so excited then? Because I’ve always wanted my own space. I’ve always wanted the chance to sit quietly and know that no one is going to interrupt me and I can slip and slide into a make-believe world safe in the knowledge it isn’t about be to shattered by a well-meaning friend, flatmate or family member.

Living with my friend has been great in many ways, but I’ve got to the point where I have to make the most of the free time I’ve got while I can. Also, one of these days Ink and I will think about living together and I’d really like to grab this chance to live alone first – I’ve wanted to ever since I first left home almost 10 years ago after all (10 years? Holy shit).

I’ve found the perfect flat, and even though it’s really expensive I can just afford it (thanks copy-job I moan about all the time). And, Ink and I talked about the fact that I’d happily spend that much extra money on a holiday or trip around the world without complaint, it’s just that finding the time and space to write is my priority right now. Wow, I’m nervous already. ๐Ÿ˜€

I never lived alone and Iโ€™ll be getting my own flat in 6 months, in another country, so Iโ€™m kind of nervous tooโ€ฆ Still, all that space & quiet will be good for us ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Oh I’m really pleased for you Lynsey! A nice space to yourself! It’s so true what they say, that you don’t know someone until you live with them…all those little habits heheh……now wait a minute… ๐Ÿ™‚ that’s the smiley skill you taught me!
I love it when my hubby works nights and I can do exactly what I like, including watching period dramas – enjoy the luxury of solitude (whilst it lasts) but remember , no mans an island (don’t know if that applies to women though ๐Ÿ™‚
